Departed City used to be the most prosperous city in Azeno. It attracted the most famous merchants from all over the world for trade, and its citizens lived lavish lifestyles. Just outside of the city's boundaries lived one of the most rare Pokemon known to man, which attracted the most skilled trainers to the wealthy city. The government of the city maintained a utopian society. Nothing ever went wrong in Departed City.

This all legend, of course. No one knows the true history of Departed City, or even how wealthy it really was. One thing is for certain, though, and that's the fact that it was once inhabited by humans. Lavish buildings, kept in their original form by the Pokemon that now inhabit the city, still line the cobble stone streets. They're the only clue to what the city was really like in the past.
