On the south facing side of Mount Kenton lies the famous Kenton Trail, the least dangerous path to the summit of the volcano. Despite the relative ease of walking along the path, Kenton Trail is still an extremely tiring trip. It's a long way up to the top of the tallest mountain in Azeno, which also means a lot of Pokemon battles along the way.

To help make the trek less tiring, people have built rest stations along the path up. At these rest stations, you can sit down and eat, enjoy the view, sleep, or anything else that would get you ready for another section of the trail. The only thing not at these stations that trainers would want is a Pokemon Center. Be careful though, wild Pokemon can still attack you at these rest station.

After the long, tiring hike up Kenton Trail, you'll reach the peak of Mount Kenton, which has a blanket of snow covering it's rocky features all year round. There aren't many dominating features here, so it's not the most interesting place in Azeno looks wise. The view from the summit on clear days, however, is one of the most breathtaking sights the entire region.

The summit of Mount Kenton is also a favorite training spot of the gym leader, Janice. She'll sometimes leave Cherona City for a week at a time, hike up Mount Kenton, and pitch a tent at the peak of the volacno. While training, she won't accept any gym battle challenges, but she may give you something to do in your spare time, so be sure to look out for her.

* In order to enter this area you must first visit Kenton Trail. After one visit to Mount Kenton Summit, you may skip Kenton Trail and go straight here. *

Board Description
§ mount kenton
Towering tall above all other mountains in Azeno, Mount Kenton is always covered in snow and ice. The rocky crag has served as the ultimate challenge for rock climbers in the region, as its north facing side is exceptionally dangerous. Trainers wishing to reach the top of the mountain need not worry, however. The south facing side of Mount Kenton has a nice and easy, yet tiring, trail from the base of the mountain to the summit.

Mount Kenton isn't just a mountain, it's also a volcano. Its most recent eruption was only twenty three years ago, but scientists have deemed it safe to visit and climb, as it hasn't shown any signs of erupting in recent years. The landscape around the volcano isn't completely destroyed, but one can see that there was a catastrophic event not too long ago.

Pokemon were the first living beings to return the area after the recent eruption, and have helped the area regrow. Many of the Pokemon are still present on Mount Kenton. Rock and Flying-types populate the trails up to the summit, while Fire, Ice, and Flying-types live at the peak.
