breeding & hatching: how it works
[/blockquote][/blockquote] So you've paid a visit to the Breeding Center and received an egg and don't know what to do next? Well this short guide to hatching will explain everything.
First off, let's explain the mechanics of breeding. You must breed one MALE Pokemon with one FEMALE Pokemon. They must also fit another requirement: they must be from the same egg group. You can check if your two Pokemon fit their egg group by looking at Serebii's Pokedex. If your Pokemon complete all these requirements, you will end up with an egg. Inside this egg lies a Pokemon of the lowest evolution chain of either the mother or father. The chance of it being either the mother's lineage or the father's lineage is 50% which we use a Random Number Generator to pick. You will be informed of what the egg will bring right when you receive it to prevent unnecessary hatching. Now that you've received your egg, it's time to hatch it! The method to hatch it is known as WALKING. Your egg must be in your possession to account for steps taken while walking. This means that the egg must take up ONE SPACE in your party. After you've done this, it's quite simple to find out how many steps you have taken. For every word in each post that your Egg is in your party, you will receive one step. PLEASE COUNT THE AMOUNT OF WORDS FOR EACH POST. This will make a) our life much easier and b) your life easier. The amount of steps can be found in Serebii's B/W PokeDex. Once you reach the required amount of steps, a Moderator will enter the thread (please inform the moderator that you think your egg can hatch now) and hatch your egg.[/blockquote]
